CLA was established in 1983 to perform collective licensing on behalf of the Authors' Licensing and Collecting Society (ALCS) and the Publishers' Licensing Society (PLS). They license organisations to copy and re-use extracts from print and digital publications on behalf of the copyright owners.

Poor data quality, in multiple operational silos, was affecting CLA’s business causing inaccurate royalty payments, declining customer satisfaction, constrained resources taking too long to respond to queries caused by inaccurate information, and, inaccurate management reporting. CLA required trusted and ‘joined up’ data across all of their business processes. Entity were asked to help. Read our case study.

Save the Children is a leading charity for children with a turnover in 2008/2009 of over £216m.  In that year they aided over 6 million children. Founded in 1919, it is active in over 70 countries dealing with emergency relief in disaster and conflict zones, as well as long-term development of education, health and welfare programmes for children.

A lack of integrated budget, financial and other data, held in various separate information silos and formats prevented Save the Children from managing grants (and other monies) effectively throughout their Grant Management process. Inaccurate data took too long to interpret and hindered grant approval. Entity delivered a Grant Management web portal to enable Save the Children to manage grants effectively at all stages.
